This score allows you to compete with other asset managers. If you choose to participate and rank among the top 20, your strategy will influence the asset allocation of the index fund, and you will earn rewards from the fees charged to index users. * **Real-Time Data and Insights:** Access real-time market data and advanced insights to inform your investment decisions. You need a crypto wallet. A crypto wallet is a tool that lets you interact with blockchain networks. It doesn’t actually store your crypto but instead holds the private keys that give you access to your funds. Think of it as a login system where only you have the credentials—no banks, no middlemen. If you lose access, no one can reset it for you. That’s why it gives you full control over your assets, but also full responsibility for keeping them safe. To start using the platform, you need a crypto wallet. We have tested our app with [Metamask](https://metamask.io), [Coinbase Wallet](https://www.coinbase.com/en-gb/wallet), and [Mew Wallet](https://www.mewwallet.com). * On mobile: Open [https://app.wedefin.com](https://app.wedefin.com/) within your wallet’s built-in browser, and it will automatically detect your wallet. * On desktop: Just visit the link, and your wallet will be detected automatically as long as the extension is installed. # Exploring the Index Fund This is a guideline on how to use the app to invest in the index fund. If this is your first time visiting the app, you will likely encounter the following dashboard:
The first thing you need to do is connect your wallet by pressing the “Connect” button. This will activate your wallet and require you to approve the connection. Once accepted, you are logged in. By default, you will be on the Base network. You can change it if you wish, or simply leave it as is. Next, press “New Account.” Since this is your first time, you will need to create an account on our platform.
After the account has been created, you will see the final panel setup:
For this example, we will deposit approximately 0.002 ETH. Once your assets are in your account, you are ready to set your asset allocation to match that of the index fund. You can always deposit more or withdraw funds. However, if you decide to earn yield (will be explained later), the withdrawal option will be disabled since the assets are in the lending market generating yield.
Your current allocation, when compared with the index, should appear as follows:
This means that on the left (your portfolio), all assets are in ETH, while the index fund’s suggested allocation is on the right. At this point, simply press “Rebalance.”
If your portfolio and the index fund are very similar, the “Rebalance” option will appear disabled. If you wish to allocate your assets to earn yield in lending markets (currently, only Aave v3 is supported), simply click “Earn.” This action will send your assets to Aave v3, and your portfolio will be updated accordingly.
The green color indicates which assets are earning. To retrieve your assets from the lending markets, press the button beside “Earn,” and the system will retrieve your assets. This will allow you to withdraw them again if you wish or to rebalance to an updated version of the index fund. Occasionally, in the list of contributors, you will see the “Set Index” button enabled. This means you can set the new index asset allocation. By doing this, you become an actor and earn rewards from everyone who uses the new index until a new actor resets it. The index can only be reset when there are significant changes between the old and new versions.
You can monitor the performance of the index fund in the “Index Overview” section. # Building your own Portfolio This guideline shows how to use the Builder App to construct your desired portfolio. In this section of the app, you can create your own portfolio. If this is your first time visiting this section, as with the index fund, you will encounter a similar dashboard:
As with the index app, the first step is to connect your wallet by pressing the “Connect” button. This action will activate your wallet and prompt you to approve the connection. Once approved, you will be logged in. By default, you will be on the Base network, similar to the index section. You can change this if desired or leave it as is. Next, press “New Account.” Since this is your first time, you will need to create an account on our platform. Please note that the index and builder contracts are separate. Therefore, if you wish to create your own portfolio and also have an account for the index, you will need to create accounts in both sections.
After creating your account, you will see the final panel setup:
For this example, we will deposit approximately 0.001 ETH. Once the deposit is in your account, you can start using all the features, such as creating your own portfolio. After 10 interactions (rebalances), you can press the “Get Rank” button if you wish to get ranked and participate in the index fund asset allocation. Initially, your asset allocation will look like this:
You can toggle “Show All” to view all supported assets. Use the selection checkboxes to add desired assets to your portfolio. After making your selections, you can switch off the toggle to display only the assets you’ve chosen. Once you’ve set your new asset allocation, press “Rebalance” and approve the transaction. For example, we’ve selected four assets, applied “Equal weights,” and then pressed “Rebalance” to achieve the following allocation:
To allocate assets to the lending market, you can select them individually in the “Earn” column or send all assets as previously described. Please note that if any asset is in the lending market, you won’t be able to withdraw or rebalance your portfolio. You must first collect all assets and return them to your account. After these interactions, you will see in the panel that you have completed 2 out of the 10 interactions needed to be eligible for ranking.
Once you complete the 10 interactions and achieve a ranking, you will appear in the list of contributors on the index fund page if you are among the top 20. In this case, you will start collecting rewards every time someone uses the index fund to set their asset allocation. A percentage of the fee charged to users will be credited to your account as rewards. In the Index app, you can press “Redeem,” and your earned ETH will be deposited into your wallet. # AI Assistant Your smart companion to set your asset allocation. This feature is currently under development and will be added to the Builder App. It will assist you in measuring your risk profile by asking questions, thereby guiding you in selecting the right portfolio for your needs. This feature is coming soon.
## AI Index Fund Contributors In addition to our AI assistant designed for builders, we have developed AI-driven strategies that operate autonomously within the WeDeFin platform. These AI-managed portfolios interact with the platform’s architecture from the backend, executing investment decisions without human intervention. The wallet addresses associated with these AI strategies are treated as contributors, evaluated using the same performance metrics as human-operated builder portfolios. This includes assessments based on profits, volatility, holding time, and asset liquidity. Consequently, both human and AI participants are ranked under identical criteria, fostering a collaborative environment where artificial intelligence and human insight collectively shape the index fund’s asset allocation. By embracing this synergy between human expertise and AI, WeDeFin aims to create a more dynamic and efficient asset management ecosystem, offering users diversified strategies and perspectives within the decentralized finance landscape. # Decentralization Non-custody means you always own and have full control of your crypto assets. ## Infrastructure We believe that DeFi is transformative because it removes intermediaries between individuals and the financial world, empowering people to have constant access to investment opportunities. At WeDeFin, you’ll need a crypto wallet to interact with the platform, as it holds your credentials, which never leave your computer or phone. Think of it like having a login and password that you’re responsible for storing securely—no one else can do it for you, offering a greater level of security. Additionally, to rebalance your portfolios in our app, we utilize decentralized exchanges, and to generate yield on your positions, we employ lending protocols. Our platform aggregates DeFi tools that interact with your wallet and other DeFi products, making it easier for you while keeping it decentralized. We never hold your credentials, nor do the DeFi protocols we interact with. ## Actively Managed Index Fund In traditional finance, asset managers make investment decisions on behalf of clients, creating a centralized system. At WeDeFin, we democratize this process by allowing anyone to become an asset manager, providing equal opportunities for all to contribute to the index fund. The curation process that determines influence over the final asset allocation is managed by a smart contract. This contract evaluates factors such as profits, volatility, holding time, and asset liquidity to assign greater weighting to certain asset managers. Consequently, anyone can become an asset manager, with the smart contract ranking their performance to shape the index fund. Fees charged to index fund users are distributed among the top 20 asset managers. ## DeFi Interactions With current technology, we could automate everything. However, to maintain decentralization, we do not make any decisions on behalf of the user. Every action requires user approval through wallet confirmations. That said, we have optimized the user experience by minimizing the number of confirmations needed, ensuring a balance between security, control, and ease of use. # Deployed Addresses Here you can find the latest deployed smart contract addresses and their function Wedefin is composed by a set of smart contract making the infrastructure modular and entirely onchain without relying on any backend infrastructure.
